Marketing Awards 2010

ticketSOUP.com® crowned Best New Brand in Marketing Society Star Awards 2010

24 May 2009

ticketSOUP.com®, the online ticketing website has come top of its class in the Best New Brand category of the Marketing Society's Star Awards, held recently at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

Launched on 1 June 2009, the website functions as a box office for owners, the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) and external suppliers, including Hampden Park and Glasgow & Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations.

Since its creation, ticketSOUP.com® has helped increase ticket sales revenue for a number of concert promoters and event organisers. In turn, customers have benefited from easier access to an even wider range of events.

Sean Murray, Head of Event Marketing, SECC commented; "Creating ticketSOUP.com® has been about developing a brand consumers, promoters and event organisers can buy into because they can identify with its core values.

"At the same time, we wanted to deliver commercial opportunities based on the volume of traffic the site delivers to advertisers as a result of its correct positioning and marketing strategy.

"It is extremely rewarding to be successful only one year later and have the brand recognised by our industry peers.

"This achievement is also testament to the skill of our dedicated in-house marketing team and the talent of some of Scotland's most renowned creative teams without whom we couldn't have brought ticketSOUP.com® to life."

ticketSOUP.com® has helped increase both the SECC's revenue from ticketing sales and online traffic to its website.

The in-house team worked with agencies including Teviot (corporate identity), Blonde (website) and Tangent Graphic (roll-out/campaign) to deliver the brand and marketing strategies.
