The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) is owned and
operated by SEC Ltd, a private Scottish Company limited by shares.
SEC Ltd has two trading subsidiary companies: Scottish Conference
Centre Ltd (SCC) and SEC Project Management Ltd (SECPM).
The shareholding in SEC Ltd is 90.86% owned by Glasgow City
Council (GCC) and 9.14% by a number of private institutions, such
as banks, pension funds and insurance companies. SEC Ltd owns the
main exhibition halls, the car parks and the surrounding land
whereas the new conference facilities, known locally as the
'Armadillo', is owned by GCC. It is operated by SCC under a
management contract.
Company governance is given by a Board of Directors under a
Chairman elected by the Board. A number of non-executive Board
members chair sub-committees.
